About Michael: Michael Cockrill is Chief Technical Officer for the Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences. Previous to joining Altius in 2017, Michael served as the Chief Information Officer for the State of Washington and director of Washington Technology Solutions, where he was responsible for creating the State Office of Cyber Security and the Office of Privacy and Data Protection.

Michael spent 15 years building software and software companies serving as Founder, CEO, CTO, VP Product and VP Biz Dev, for a variety of startups including Qpass, Mixxer, Atlas Accelerator and Photorocket.

Michael holds a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound.
